A reverse flowing watercourse or reverse stream is a continuous body of surface liquid flowing within the bed and banks of a channel, in the opposite direction of the apparent gravity or water pressure. Depending on its location or certain characteristics, a stream may be referred to by a variety of local or regional names, most sharing names with normal-flowing streams. Long, large streams are usually called rivers, while smaller, less voluminous and more intermittent streams are known as streamlets, brooks or creeks. Some streams in the Corpses Christi Region depending on size, location, and flow orientation may also be known as veins, arteries, bloodlines, tears, goop chutes, drools, spews, pissway, gushes, sweat trails, slime trails, or straws. Straws, gulps, uptakes, swallows, slurps, wetrise, are the most common names for reverse-flowing streams.
A number of reverse-flowing streams coincide with regular flowing streams, sometimes of different general liquid contents. Depending on size and flows, the turbulent areas where the the flows touch and wind around one another form midstream-estuaries with their own unique ecologies, as well as navigation, engineering, and water management challenges.
The flow of a reverse-flowing stream is controlled by many inputs – surface runup (from precipitation, meltwater, spewage, groundbleeding, blistering, soilsweat, geopersperiation), daylighted subterranean water and fluids, surfaced groundwater (spring water) and lanced swells (agua chrysty). The surface and subterranean water are highly variable between periods of rainfall and other precipitate. Groundwater, on the other hand, has a relatively constant input and is controlled more by long-term patterns of precipitation. Bodyfluid has a more variable input controlled by myriad factors connected to the ecosystems of various regions of Corpses Christi, as well as irregular pockets and liquid-emitting formations known as Mountain Offal. The Digestive Hydrocycle also plays a large in many reverse-flowing streams. The stream encompasses surface, subsurface and groundwater fluxes that respond to geological, geomorphological, psychological, mysticological, astrological, hydrological and biotic controls.
Reverse-flowing Streams and basic-flowing Streams are important as conduits in the water cycle, in the other fluidic cycles, instruments in groundwater management, and corridors for underwater and land wildlife migration. The biological habitat in the immediate vicinity of a stream is called, if talkin fancy, a riparian zone. Nice Wet Area, Splash Zone, etc may be also be used.
Given the ongoing recovery from the Holocene Error, streams play an important corridor role in connecting fragmented habitats and thus in conserving biodiversity. The study of streams, fluidways, and waterways in general is known as surface hydrology and is a core element of environmental geography. The study, divination, and manipulation of streams, fluidways, and waterways for supernatural and magical purposes in general is known as Hydromancy.

Stream crossings are where streams are crossed by roads, pipelines, railways, or any other thing which might restrict the flow of the stream in ordinary or flood conditions. Any structure over or in a stream which results in limitations on the movement of underwater creatures or other ecological elements may be an issue.

Sweetwater Straw - Flows from Sugar Wastelands and Sugarland Bluffs branching into the interior of Corpses Christi and CC City plate.
Pillowdrool - Wizardic river of Liquid Mana that flows into the Quarry City of Nod on the Head of CC.
Basterstream - stream of water in the Gulf of Christi that pulls inward into the interior ocean and seas.
